DIY Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso

IMG_1481_jpg.jpeg

Have you tried Starbucks’ Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso yet? It has quickly become one of my favorite drinks! It’s not to sweet, and just the right amount of caffeine. Only downside of it is the price. 🥴 In Chicago it comes out to almost $7 for just a grande!

As most of you know I used to work at the Bux and with my knowledge + the help of some of my current barista friends, I started making this yummy drink at home!

All you need is a way to make espresso (i.e. Moka Pot, Nespresso, etc.) some oat milk, and brown sugar! I Starbucks Blonde Espresso because that’s what they use for this drink! But you can definitely use any espresso you want!

I think I perfected this recipe so if you are a fan of this drink you should definitely try and make it at home!

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add 1 tsp of brown sugar (or more depending how sweet you like it) to a shaker bottle or whatever you have to mix drinks with!

  2. Add a drop of maple syrup (this is optional but I think it really elevates the taste and adds a nice touch since the brown sugar isn’t a syrup)

  3. Pour in 3 shots of espresso (2 shots for 12 oz, 3 shots 16 oz, 4 shots 24 oz)

  4. Mix all ingredients together so the espresso melts the brown sugar

  5. Add ice (I usually use a full glass of ice, whichever cup I’m using to drink out of, the espresso melts some of the ice so you want to add a good amount)

  6. Add a shake of cinnamon into the ice

  7. Shake 10 times

  8. Add in oat milk (Starbucks uses Oatly! But you can use any oat milk you’d like! I used Silk OatYeah oat milk)

Let me know if you try! Be sure to check out my reel on Instagram on how I make this!

Xo. Enjoy!
