The benefits of BCAAS

Originally written on August 23, 2017

Today something really amazing happened to me. I switched from my beloved Strawberry Kiwi BCAAs to Mango… and it was magnificent. I was very hesitant because the last time I switched to Pink Lemonade I regretted it immediately and was stuck with a gross flavor for 30 whole servings which sucked… but I got through.

My favorite brand of BCAAS is Scivation Xtend. Right from the start I fell in love with these because after taking Amino-Energy I loved that Scivation offered a non-stimulant supplement, which means you can drink them at any time of the day and there will be no annoying tingling or energy boost (yay for late night workouts.) Its all natural.  Not to mention they’re absolutely delicious.

I literally crave these suckers every single day. I drink them once a day during all of my workouts, sometimes twice if needed. I love Scivation because it’s just the right amount of sweetness, which I find crazy because theres literally 0g of sugar! I also like Scivation because they offer a wide selection of flavors and they don’t have that medicine-y, vitamin-y, diet-y taste to them.

BENEFITS OF BCAAS // WHAT ARE THEY // WHY YOU SHOULD DRINK THEM // WHY THEY SHOULD BE YOUR GO TO SUPPLEMENT :

There is absolutely (in my opinion) no harm in taking BCAAs whether you are active or not. I always hype this supplement up because there are so many benefits that come from drinking aminos every day.

For starters, BCAAs stands for Branched Chain Amino-Acids and are made up of essential amino acids (leucine, isoleucine and valine) that make up for abooOOooOOut 35% of your body’s muscle protein that you can’t really get on your own unless you eat specific foods or take specific supplements that contain them. In other words, taking BCAAs help you get more out of your super lit lifting sessions at the gym. GAINS GAINS GAINS.

Top 3 Benefits From Drinking BCAAs:

  • HELPS FACILITATE FAT LOSS & SUPPORTS MUSCLE GROWTH. BCAAs contain L-leucine (3500mg/serving in Xtend) which helps burn fat without losing muscle. Like any supplement it’s very important to note that nothing will magically help you lose fat or gain muscle, and BCAA supplementation is more of an aid rather than a quick fix. However, by drinking BCAAs and maintaining a proper workout regimen, you can keep muscular energy levels up, maintain muscle mass, and build muscle allllllll whileeee dropping that stubborn, annoying, unwanted fat.

  • PREVENTS MUSCLE BREAKDOWN & SUPPORTS MUSCLE RECOVERY. When you are working out you are essentially tearing your little baby muscles in hopes to make them grow (GAINS). Therefore, by drinking BCAAs you are speeding up your recovery time. This means you won’t be as sore after a workout, and will minimize your recovery time. This is important if you are trying to target a specific muscle group that you would like to lift more often *cough cough* BOOTY GAINS!!

  • REPLENISHES ELECTROLYTES & BOOSTS YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM. Drinking BCAAs is like drinking a super healthy gatorade that tastes DELICIOUS and is also veryyyyyyyy useful during a earth shattering hangover. BCAAs (Xtend specifically) also include a wonderful amino acid called L-Glutamine (2500mg/serving in Xtend). Glutamine is needed throughout your body for optimal performance, which is lit because during an intense workout Glutamine is depleted, so drinking BCAAs help restore your Glutamine levels.

My other GO-TO Flavors: Strawberry-Kiwi & Blue Rasperry

Soooo, thats all I got for ya tonight. Had to share with the world how amazing BCAAs are and what good comes from sippin’ on em  xo
